Carine Abi Akar is an Engagement Manager in McKinsey & Company’s Dubai office. She joined McKinsey in 2014. She has built her expertise in strategy, entrepreneurship, SME development, technology and education.
Before joining McKinsey, Carine was the Founding Co- Manager of Edraak, the first non-profit MOOC platform in the Arab region. She has also designed charters for a technology-focused publicly-funded private high school in Mississippi’s delta region. She is lso dedicated to finding solutions to refugee education challenges, and does this on top of her regular McKinsey client engagements. Carine is a board member of the Harvard Arab Alumni Association and is their Director of Technology.
Carine holds a Master of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Technology, Innovation, & Education and a Bachelor of Science from MIT in Computer Science and Engineering. Carine is a native English and Arabic speaker, with conversational ability in French
